A handful of years back, I kept hearing Michelle on the More Than Farmers YouTube channel talk about how much she loved apple and chocolate mint. After some research, I found that the mint plant given to me by step mom when we moved back to St. Louis was indeed apple mint, also known as woolly mint. But I couldn’t find chocolate mint in-stock anywhere locally or online. The persistence paid off, and early spring this year I found the coveted chocolate mint in-stock, online. I was totally shocked to find there were even more types of mint. Sure, we know about spearmint, peppermint, mountain, and maybe even sweet mint. Did you know there is also orange mint, strawberry mint, pineapple mint, etc? Here at the end of July, my new mint garden is getting its first cut back and it has me obsessively thinking…what should I make with the mint other than tea and smoothies?
